The NDGSA is focused on the Nigerian Dwarf breed, solely, and is currently the only dedicated group progressing and promoting the Nigerian Dwarf Breed in Australia.
Since the introduction of the Nigerian breed to Australia, it has flourished. With its ideal combination of proven milk production and attractive miniature size, sturdiness, colour range and temperament, it is ideal for everyone including the small landowner, families and older people. As a result interest in and demand for the breed continues to grow exponentially and it’s rapidly becoming the most popular goat breed in Australia.
As a result of the growth in the Nigerians popularity, there is a growing demand for not only the Nigerians themselves but knowledge and information on the breed. The NDGSA has formed to help address this need. Its aim is to help Nigerian owners and breeders to obtain the most possible success whether that be as much loved pets, productive milk producers, show or breeding animals.
Our membership consists of many old hands of the goat world who are now dedicated to the Nigerian Dwarf breed and to ensuring its success in Australia. To this end, they are ready and willing to support NDGSA members with their invaluable knowledge and experience.
The NDGSA has been formed to include everyone that has an interest in and fallen in love with the Nigerian Dwarf breed. Pet owners through to breeders and dairy producers are all welcome and catered for. We are here to educate, share knowledge, expertise and our enthusiasm with you for the breed.
